Can I still enter?
No, entries closed on 8 June but you can register your interest in next year’s awards and we’ll notify you when they open for entry.
I’m a finalist, what happens next?
Once the finalists have been announced on Tuesday 29 June, an email detailing the stage 2 judging process will be sent. Please contact us if you don’t receive your email within 24 hours of the announcement. Please note that the email will be sent to the person who submitted the entry.
What is the stage 2 judging process?
Stage 2 requires all finalists to present to our judges at a virtual meeting on Wednesday 28 July. Presentations should be evidence-based and include an overview of what you do and how you do it, with clear examples of where you have excelled and gone the extra mile.
Will the judges see my original written submission?
Yes, the judges will have access to all the details you submitted online (excluding contact details) and will consider the quality of your original written submission in conjunction with your online presentation.
Do you give feedback on the entries and presentations?
No, the judges’ comments on individual entries and presentations and the deliberation process are confidential.

Where is the awards taking place this year and how do I book?
The 2021 Tech & Innovation Awards Ceremony will take place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd November at the Royal Lancaster London.
The safety and wellbeing of our guests remains of paramount importance and we will continue to review and refine plans for all live events in accordance with UK Government and local authority guidance, as well as taking any venue/location specific regulations into account. What time does the event start and finish?
6.30pm – Drinks Reception
7.15pm – Dinner
9.15pm – Awards Ceremony
10.00pm – After Party

Is there a charge to attend?
Yes. Table packages and prices are detailed in the Book Your Table section of this website.
What will the dress code be?
The dress code will be black tie. Go on! Get out your glad rags and get ready to party!
When will my ticket(s) arrive?
We won’t be issuing hard copy tickets this year, instead we will be sending you a pdf invitation in October which you can share with your guests.
How do I submit my guests names?
Table names must be submitted online, via the table booking system. To access your booking you will need the email address and password of the person who booked your table. Once you have this information login and submit your guest details. We need your guests’ first names, surnames, company names and dietary requirements*. Please pay particular attention to the spelling and use of capital letters as we will print the details as you provide them, in the awards programme and on the table plan. Please note that Insurance Times reserves the right to adhere to house editorial style as deemed appropriate by the brand.
* There may be an additional charge for dietary restrictions requiring specialist meals, please ask a member of the events team for more details
What is the deadline for submitting guest names and dietary requirements?
All the above details must be provided no later than 5.00pm on Wednesday, 13th October Due to print deadlines, any names received after the deadline will not be included in the programme or on the printed table plan.
I’ve missed the deadline for submitting guest names, do I still need to send in my guest names?
Yes, because as well as requiring details of any dietary requirements, we also print a copy of the guest list on the night so we can assist your guests with finding their table.
Will you be providing place cards?
If you are a sponsor or have booked a Premium table package we will provide printed place cards as long as we’ve received your guest names by the deadline.
We do not provide place cards for standard tables. However, you are more than welcome to print them yourselves and send over to us in advance so we can lay them out for you. Alternatively, you can bring them with you on the night and we’ll allow you access to your table during the drinks reception to do so yourselves.
Does my ticket include any drinks? How can I order extra?
Your ticket/table includes a drinks package as specified on your confirmation email. If you would like to place an additional order please email the Events Team to request an order form. You will need to place the order directly with the hotel and pay the hotel for any additional drinks.
Please note that you will also be able to purchase drinks at the bar. The Royal Lancaster is not accepting cash payments however, so don’t forget to bring you credit or debit card!
What’s on the menu?
The menu will be sent with the joining instructions from mid-October.
Do I advise the waiters of my dietary requirements on the night?
No, all dietary requirements need to be communicated in advance. If any guests fail to let us know by the deadline (13th October) we cannot guarantee that the venue will be able to accommodate your requests.
Can I choose the vegetarian option on the night?
No, all vegetarian meals will need to be ordered in advance.
Can I order a Kosher meal for one of my guests?
Yes, but this needs to be ordered at least 48 hours in advance and there will be an extra charge as this has to be brought in specially. Please contact the Events Team for more information.
Is there a special rate for accommodation at the hotel?

What steps is the Royal Lancaster taking to mitigate the risk of Covid 19 infection to both staff and guests?
Please see below some of the steps the Royal Lancaster is following on a daily basis:
– We are encouraging our guests to still wear face coverings while moving around the public areas of the hotel.
– We still have hand sanitizing stations in the public areas of the hotel.
– Our staff are wearing face coverings.
– Handwashing and personal hygiene is trained and strongly encouraged.
– We are continuing with our regular cleaning and sanitizing of all areas.
– Air conditioning is put on in all areas with fresh air input and extract in the function suites.
– Guests are encouraged to check in with the NHS track and trace QR code – residents and events guests.
– Our staff are encouraged to take lateral flow testing every 2 days (although we cannot mandate this by law) and are temperature checked on a daily basis when arriving for work.
When are the finalists announced?
Finalists will be announced on Tuesday 29 June.
What do we get for being a finalist?
Apart from a warm glow and the satisfaction of being an Insurance Times Tech & Innovation Awards finalist, you will also receive a finalist logo which you can use to promote your success.
When do we find out who’s won?
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Wednesday, 3 November. Please don’t ask us to reveal anything in advance of the ceremony – we won’t!
When do tickets go on sale?
The 2021 Awards will be held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in central London on 3 November. We are currently awaiting updated Government guidance regarding business events and gatherings as part of the roadmap out of lockdown. As soon as this is in place and we know what we need to do at the venue to ensure we are Covid-secure, table packages will be confirmed and tickets will go on sale.
What happens if we can’t hold an in person awards ceremony?
In the event that restrictions are still in place making a physical ceremony impossible, we will have a Plan B virtual ceremony on standby.
What do we get for being a winner?
The right to brag that you’re the best of the best, as well as a certificate, trophy and winner’s logo (please note there may be a charge for this package).
