Biography

Matt is a Co-Founder of Insurance DataLab, a powerful new data insight service focusing on the performance of insurers, Lloyd’s Syndicates, MGAs, and brokers based in the UK and Gibraltar. Matt started his career as an Actuarial Associate Consultant at Aon where he studied towards the professional exams of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and completed a MSc in Actuarial Finance at Imperial College Business School.

Matt spent several years at Insurance Times, most recently as Data Insights Editor. During his time with the magazine, Matt won Best Profile/Interview at the BIBA Journalist Awards and was highly commended a number of other times for his analysis of the UKGI market, which had a particular focus on financial performance, claims trends and the regulatory landscape.

Matt has created many well-respected research reports and spoken at a number of industry events on topics including motor insurance, regulation, cyber insurance, customer service, and financial performance. Matt has also written for a variety of other business information providers, including a term as Editor of the magazine of the Chartered Management Institute.
